Each December, children from inner-city schools delight in the chance to attend Winter WonderFest, enjoying the sights of 20,000 icicle lights, and reveling in dozens of holiday rides and attractions.
Children Celebrate Children joins together hospital patients, students, corporations and volunteers to bring holiday cheer to Chicago’s children.
This unique event, now in its 23rd year, provides children from underserved neighborhoods with a memorable holiday experience at Navy Pier’s Winter WonderFest, along with the opportunity to decorate festive trees for the patients and families at Children’s Memorial Hospital.
After the event, these festive trees are put on display in the lobby of Children’s Memorial, where they brighten the halls for seriously ill children who must remain in the hospital during the holidays. A select group of trees recognizing corporate sponsors of a certain level are placed on display at O’Hare International Airport during the busy holiday season.
Children Celebrate Children is organized and hosted by the Founders’ Board of Children’s Memorial Hospital.
Thank you so much for letting me go to Wonderfest at Navy Pier. I wish you saw our faces when we heard we were going. My favorite part was everything and I am so thankful.
