The Challenge to the Community

An anonymous Chicago-based foundation has created a challenge in the amount of $150,000 per year over the next three years to advance the highest priorities of Children's Memorial Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders, including the Falk Brain Tumor Center, fellowship training, clinical research and STAR program. This means that every qualifying gift will have a greater impact on the care and research Children's can offer to children with cancer and blood disorders.

How it works

For every dollar received from new donors and for every dollar of incremental donations from current donors pledged and paid from now through May 26, 2014, Children's will receive a grant dollar, up to a total of $150,000 per year.

  • Gifts must be from individuals, corporations or foundations. In-kind donations are not included.
  • A new donor is one who has not made a gift in the last two years.
  • An incremental donor is one whose recent gift is greater than the cumulative gift from the previous year. Example: You made three gifts last year totaling $100. This year, you make two gifts totaling $150; the incremental donation is $50.
How you can help

By making a qualifying gift, your investment in the health and well-being of children affected by cancer and blood disorders will achieve even more in creating improved treatments and cures. If you have questions as to whether your gift is eligible to be included in the challenge, contact T.J. Johnson at thjohnson@childrensmemorial.org or 773.880.3796.
