Run for Gus is a fun and inspiring event to raise funds for pediatric brain tumor research and Family Services programs at Children's Memorial Hospital, which is becoming Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago on June 9, 2012.

In addition to the momentous opening of Lurie Children’s, 2012 marks a milestone for YAB as we are celebrating the 10th Anniversary of Run for Gus, honoring Gus Evangelides, who lost his courageous battle against a malignant brain tumor. To learn more about Gus and the history behind the Run For Gus event visit the Young Associates Board page.

Whether you are a runner, walker or supporter, this event has activities for participants of all ages. Enjoy the Deloitte After-Party at the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum including free beer, wine and food. Children will enjoy exciting entertainment by the amazing Open Heart Magic magicians and music from Mr. Singer and Kerry Appleberry before the Kids Race (5:30pm 6pm) and after the Kids Race (6:30pm 7:30pm).

Register as an individual or start or join a team, and then invite your friends and family to support your efforts.

We hope you will consider fundraising as part of your run/walk experience. Participants who raise $50 or more are eligible to win exciting prizes from our presenting sponsors, Four Seasons Hotel and Ritz-Carlton, and other Chicago-area businesses. Raise at least $50 to qualify for one raffle ticket, and $100 for a second ticket.

Your participation is helping to save and improve the lives of children with brain tumors like our 2012 Patient Champion Connor Ruisz.

Not a runner or walker? You can still support the cause by sponsoring a runner/walker or team.
