Congratulations, Steppers!

Sunday, January 29 was an amazing day — we reached record numbers thanks to over 3,000 participants in the climb, our generous corporate sponsors, and countless donors. This level of participation demonstrates our community’s amazing commitment to improving the lives of the 148,000 children cared for each year at Children’s Memorial Hospital, which is becoming Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago on June 9, 2012.

Proceeds raised through Step Up for Kids will support the fundraising efforts of K.I.D.S.S. for Kids, an Affiliated Organization of Children’s, and one of the largest donors to the hospital’s Family Services department. Family Services provides a wide range of programs that focus on the emotional, developmental and spiritual needs of patients and their families. As donations are still being accepted through the end of February, a final fundraising tally will not be announced for a little while. Nonetheless, we are well on our way to reaching the target goal of $575,000!

Awards and Incentive Prizes: Medals will be awarded to the top three female and male finishers, and will be mailed out in the coming days. Qualifying participants for incentive prizes will receive a letter and voucher in the mail that will include instructions for redeeming the prize. All prizes can be picked up at Universal Sole in Lakeview, located at 3052 N. Lincoln Avenue in Chicago.
